The Valley Economic Summit will be held on Thursday, May 13. The annual event brings together business leaders from the Valley region along with economic and real estate experts to explore issues and concerns related to the region’s economy. The Summit takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City. The Valley Economic Alliance and California State University, Northridge are co-presenting the event. Keynote speakers include: Mark R. Goldston, chairman, president, and CEO of United Online; and Peter Lowy, managing director of the Westfield Group. There will be nine breakout sessions. At 10:15 am, attendees can learn from industry professionals about present and future trends. They can also learn about what businesses are growing and why, and who’s not growing and why not. Other breakout panels will explore how to take advantage of current property values, low interest rates, where to access money today, growing businesses internationally, and how to make money by going green.
