Easton-Bell Reports Q3 Earnings

Net income dropped in the third quarter for sports equipment manufacturer Easton-Bell Sports Inc. when compared to the same period a year ago. The Van Nuys-based Easton-Bell reported a net income of $3 million on revenues of $198.8 million for the quarter ending Oct. 2. For the same period a year ago the company had net income of $6.3 million on revenues of $180.4 million. Strong sales of football, baseball, and ice hockey equipment contributed to the increase in revenues in the team sports division, going up by 12.4 percent to $11.3 million when compared to the third quarter in 2009. In the action sports division, sales of snowsports helmets and goggles and powersports helmets and cycling equipment were the driver of the 8 percent increase in revenues, to $7.1 million. Mark R.
