Health Net Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of Woodland Hills-based Health Net Inc., was awarded a contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide outpatient recovery audit services for the department’s Chief Business Office. The subsidiary will provide audits of Veterans Affairs payments made for Outpatient Non-VA Fee Care Program, the Civilian Health and Medical Program and the Spinal Bifida and Children of Women Vietnam Veterans programs. The purpose of the contract is to identify and recover improper outpatient care payments based on billing and procedural inconsistency when compared to health industry standards and Veterans Affairs policy, law and regulations. “We have performed impatient recovery audits for VA for more than 10 years and look forward to providing the first outpatient recovery audit to help ensure payments are reasonable, consistent and proper,” said Health Net’s VA Programs Officer Donna Hoffmeier.
