Image Entertainment Inc. has acquired majority rights to classic television shows and movies owned by Madacy Entertainment. The special interest programming, which includes “The Lucy Show,” “The Beverly Hillbillies,” John Wayne films and documentaries fits in with the titles already offered by the Chatsworth-based distributor, company executives said. Madacy will retain a 30 percent interest in its video division, with Image acquiring that interest on or before Aug. 31, 2014. “This acquisition allows us to expand our library quickly while affording us properties to leverage across several platforms,” said Image Chairman and CEO Ted Green.
