Peter Ruiz has been named as the new regional manger in the San Fernando Valley for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation. Ruiz will work from the Valley Economic Alliance offices in Sherman Oaks. He replaces Elan Shore who left that position several months ago. Ruiz brings more than 13 years of professional business experience with national and regional companies. He most recently worked for The Legaspi Company where he is credited with having strengthened new business development and uncovering retailers seeking help with their expansions plans. Ruiz has also worked in urban and Hispanic areas, leading to his work with Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets and other retail chains. Ruiz is a member of the board of directors for the National Society of Hispanic MBA’s Los Angeles chapter. He is also involved with the Scholarship Selection Committee for Loyola Marymount University’s Mexican American Alumni Association. Jessica Selva
