Local Four Seasons Gets New General Manger

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village has hired a veteran with the hotel chain as its new general manager. Michael Newcombe will now oversee the 270-room hotel’s 500 employees, all its operations and the onsite California Health & Longevity Institute. “I look forward to building on the hotel’s successful opening and continuing its momentum of this unique destination,” he said. Newcombe joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 1994 as director of rooms at the Regent London. He was most previously the general manager at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. That hotel specialized in groups and incentive business from smaller programs to full resort buyouts. Newcombe plans to create a similar profile at the Westlake Village hotel. Before working in Texas, Newcombe was the opening general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire near London. He also spent time as the hotel manager at a Four Seasons hotel in Dublin and assisted in the re-opening of another one in Sydney. Newcombe holds a business management degree from Solent University in Southampton and a post-graduate diploma from Lausanne Ecole Hotelier in Lausanne, Switzerland. Jessica Vernabe
