The business that received the funds through the city’s Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant Program were Friendly Hair Salon, Pilates Teck, Richan Landscaping, VO2 Fitness and Yoga Yoga, according to a statement released by the city. “The program helps local small business owners make business enhancements, as well as encourage business growth and sustainability in the Newhall Redevelopment area,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. The program, part of the city’s 21-Point Business Plan for Progress, awards 20 small businesses in the Newhall Redevelopment area with grants of up to $5,000 each. To qualify for the grants, the businesses had to employ no more than 25 employees and needed to be located within the Newhall Redevelopment area.
