Small Business Development Center in Camarillo Opens

A new Small Business Development Center is opening in Camarillo and will provide Ventura County small-business owners with consulting and training services. The Economic Development Collaborative of Ventura County was chosen to host the new center, which will begin operating on July 1. The collaborative is a public-private economic development organization that offers programs promoting jobs and economic growth. “The entrepreneurial spirit of our small business owners and surrounding communities is truly unique,” said Bruce Stenslie, the organization’s president and CEO. “We are confident that the (collaborative) in conjunction with the SBDC network, will be able to support and promote economic growth for the entire region.” The designation follows efforts by the Los Angeles regional network to open a new center after the Small Business Development Center at Ventura College closed in December. The new center is located at 1601 Carmen Drive, Suite 215 in Camarillo. The Small Business Development Network services the Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara communities. The center program is the U.S. Small Business Association’s most extensive economic development program. Jessica Selva
