New York-based Breckenridge IS Inc. has acquired a majority interest in Westlake Village-based specialty reinsurance broker company REcentis Intermediaries, LLC, the New York-based company announced. REcentis, which also has offices in Sydney, Australia, is noted as having expertise in energy, casualty and financial reinsurance. Breckenridge is a specialty insurance underwriting manager, wholesale broker and insurance services company. It markets a full-range of property-casualty insurance solutions to brokers throughout the United States. With the addition of REcentis, Breckenridge will have offices in 14 U.S. states, plus Australia. “The professionals at REcentis offer their clients direct access to the best expertise in the reinsurance markets,” said Tracey Carragher, CEO of Breckenridge. “The REcentis business model focuses on finding cost-effective innovative solutions to the most challenging specialty reinsurance problems in today’s competitive insurance environment.” The acquisition will be beneficial for the Westlake Village-based company’s client base, said REcentis CEO Brendan Roche. “With Breckenridge, we will be able to access a broad range of clients with specialty insurance needs that require a custom, individualized solution,” Roche said.
