Henry Mayo Names New CEO

Kevin A. Klockenga has been appointed chief executive of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital effective March 13.

He replaces Roger Seaver who is retiring from the Santa Clarita Valley hospital after 22 years.

Henry Mayo Board of Directors Chair Chris Luechtefeld said the hospital was pleased to have Klockenga join during a very challenging yet exciting time in healthcare.

“Our nationwide search generated interest from a large number of highly-qualified candidates,” Luechtefeld said in a statement. “We believe Kevin is the right executive to lead Henry Mayo as the hospital continues to expand to meet the needs of our growing community.”

Prior to his appointment at Henry Mayo, Klockenga has served as chief executive and system executive vice president for the Northern California region of the Providence Saint Joseph Health System.

During his 10 years as head of Providence Northern California, Klockenga oversaw significant growth in Providence’s services through investments in new services and various acquisitions. He led several successful quality initiatives and helped position the organization to be successful in population health, according to a release from Henry Mayo.

The board was particularly impressed with Kevin’s experience in leading growth while focusing on quality initiatives, Luechtefeld said, adding, “Henry Mayo is dedicated to continuous improvement and his guidance will enhance our efforts.”
