The stock market showed mixed results in the two-week period ended Dec. 4 that included heavy retail shopping following the Thanksgiving holiday. The Dow Jones ended with a 0.1 percent drop while the Nasdaq showed a gain of 3 percent. By comparison, the Valley 50 had a gain of 0.3 percent. One large gainer was construction firm Tutor-Perini Corp. with a 10 percent increase, despite lower third-quarter earnings. However the construction firm affirmed its guidance for the full year. The biggest loser was Research Solutions Inc., which had a 31 percent drop following the release of fiscal first quarter earnings showing an operational loss.
