Stocks were up across the board for the two-week period ended Jan. 30. The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 both finished the period up 3 percent. The NASDAQ finished up 0 .8 percent, while the Valley 50 Index had the second best week, up 2.6 percent. The best local performer was K-Swiss Inc., up 48 percent, with Trio-Tech International the second best performer, up 25 percent. The worst local performers were THQ Inc., and BNK Petroleum Inc., down 75 percent and 17 percent, respectively.
