Stocks were down across the board for the two-week period ended Nov. 20. The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 finished the period off 3.5 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively. The NASDAQ fell 3.2 percent, while the Valley 50 Index had the worst week, finishing down 3.6 percent. The best local performer was Talon International Inc., an apparel industry supplier in Woodland Hills, which was up 57 percent. Trio-Tech International, a diversified manufacturer in Van Nuys, was the second-best performer, up 5.7 percent. Shedding the most share value was DTS Inc., a Calabasas maker of audio technology for the entertainment industry. The company was down 30 percent.
