Kaiser Permanente Honored by LAEDC

Kaiser Permanente has been selected as the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation’s corporate honoree for the 15th Annual Eddy Awards, the economic development organization announced. The awards ceremony, to be held Nov. 10 at the Beverly Hilton, celebrates individuals and organizations that contribute to positive economic development in the region. Kaiser Permanente, which has medical centers in the San Fernando Valley, is being recognized as Los Angeles County’s largest employer and as a leading health care provider. “As the largest private employer in Los Angeles County, Kaiser Permanente has created tens of thousands of quality jobs, while providing a critical service for our residents and communities,” said Bill Allen, president and CEO of the economic development group. In Los Angeles County, Kaiser Permanente employs more than 36,000 people at seven medical centers, dozens of outpatient medical offices, as well as specialty laboratory, pharmacy and manufacturing facilities and regional headquarters. At the Eddy Awards, the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation will also announce the 5th Annual “Most Business-Friendly City in Los Angeles County,” which recognizes cities with more than 60,000 residents and less than 60,000 residents, respectively for different awards.
