Talon International, Inc. announced the appointment of a new chief strategy officer on Thursday. Daniel Ryu, a 25-year veteran of the apparel and accessory industry, will oversee strategic operations for all divisions of the zipper, trim and fastener company. His previous posts at Wet Seal, Oakley and, most recently, as the chief operating officer of sports apparel merchandiser Fanatics Inc., have involved a wide range of responsibilities, from contract negotiations to finance. “The company is very fortunate to add such a high-caliber, talented leader to our team,” Chief Executive Larry Dyne said in a news release. “Daniel’s broad experience will enable him to make immediate contributions to the company, as we continue to offer high-quality, relevant products to the global marketplace.” Talon’s stock rose 1 cent or 10 percent on Thursday to close at 11 cents on the over-the-counter market.
