Cinedigm Corp. has signed an agreement with video streamer Roku to distribute the Bloody Disgusting channel.The channel will debut Tuesday on Roku, an ad-supported platform that recorded an estimated 56 million viewers in 2019. It will feature original films produced by Bloody Disgusting, horror content from Cinedigm’s catalog and other topical presentations to celebrate Halloween.
Bloody Disgusting is a Chicago media company that produces horror movies and podcasts and manages a genre news website. It announced in July it had partnered with Sherman Oaks entertainment content distributor Cinedigm to create a streaming channel exclusively for horror content.Erick Opeka, president of Cinedigm Digital Networks, said in a statement the company is pleased to help establish a dedicated network for horror fans.“We are thrilled that Roku recognizes the tremendous value of the Bloody Disgusting brand and curated content. The exclusive premiere of the channel on the Roku Channel is certain to grab the attention of the millions of horror fans throughout the U.S.”Shares of Cinedigm (CIDM) closed Monday down about 2 cents, or almost 3 percent, to 56 cents on the Nasdaq.
