Providence Holy Cross to Break Ground On Emergency Department Expansion

Congressman Brad Sherman will join County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and Assemblywoman Cindy Montanez along with Providence executives to break ground on the 6,600-square-foot expansion of the Providence Holy Cross Emergency Department and Trauma Center. The expansion, which will cost $7.5 million, will grow the emergency department from 16 beds to 34 beds. Built in 1977 to serve 15,000 patients per year, the emergency department treated over 44,000 emergency patients and 1,400 trauma patients in 2004. The Providence Holy Cross Trauma Center is the second busiest private trauma center in Los Angeles County.
