Ixia, a Calabasas-based provider of IP network testing, reported an exponential increase in profits during the latest quarter. Ixia’s fourth quarter profits rose to $7.6 million or $0.11 per share, compared to $2.3 million, or $0.04 per share during the same period in 2003. Ixia reported sales for the quarter of $35.1 million up from $23.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2003. Ixia’s reported a 2004 net income of $18.8 million or $0.29 per share, from $8.7 million, or $0.14 per share in 2003. Its year end revenue rose to $117 million from $83.5 million. Included in the earnings was a $1.4 million tax benefit and a $1.2 million charge related to taxation from the sale of its shares.
