Need a Laugh?

The wife of comedian Adam Carolla and the ex-wife of Jimmy Kimmel have opened a new spa in Studio City, hoping to distinguish it from the competition with a little bit of attitude. Gina Kimmel, Lynette Carolla, and a third partner, Kim Sudhalter, who is a publicist, will hold a grand opening for their new spa, LushSpa, on Friday at 8 p.m. The spa will offer a typical range of services from facials to waxing treatments and laser treatments, with a comic twist. Facials are named after cocktails, like the Scotch and Soda Facial for men and the Shirley Temple for teens, and LushSpa also features a hangover remedy on weekend mornings complete with a face mask and a head and neck massage. Guests can bring their own music while they enjoy a facial or a massage, and the facility is also available to host bachelorette and other parties. The grand opening party will benefit Friends & Helpers, a group that serves the victims of domestic violence. Just like the trendiest clubs, LushSpa, which is located in a house at 4251 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, has no sign out front, “so it can be found only by those in the know,” the owners say.
