Sam Srivastava has joined Woodland Hills-based Health Net Inc. as chief Medicare officer. He’ll be in charge of the company’s Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans, handling operations and sales across the country. “Sam joins Health Net as we are about to launch our 2006 Medicare Advantage programs,” said Jay Gellert, president and chief executive officer of Health Net in a statement. “His extensive experience with government health insurance programs makes him uniquely qualified to help Health Net realize the full potential of our Medicare business as we prepare to launch our most aggressive marketing and sales campaign ever in support of our new prescription drug benefit programs.” Previously, Srivastava worked for UnitedHealth Group, where was chief executive officer for the company’s AmeriChoice Northeast Region.
