Sell off Contributes to Interlink Profits

The sale of two of its business segments contributed to Interlink Electronics Inc. posting a net profit for the third quarter. The Camarillo-based electronic equipment manufacturer reported a net income of $1.6 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, on revenues of $4.7 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30. For the same period in 2006, the company reported a net loss of $1.9 million, or a loss of $0.14 per diluted share, on revenues of $3.7 million. Included in the quarterly results was the sale of Interlink’s remotes and branded products segments for $11.5 million in cash. The completion of the sale is a turning point for the company, allowing it to focus on the growing e-transactions and specialty components segments, said Interlink President and CEO E. Michael Thoben.
