About 400 people attended Valley Community Clinic’s “Laughter is the Best Medicine” fund-raising event Oct. 10 at the Sheraton Universal to honor two people who are advocates for access to health care Vince Liuzzi, regional president San Fernando Valley for Wells Fargo and actor Hugh Laurie who plays Dr. Gregory House in the television show “House” received the honors. The annual gala promotes the works of the clinic which provides health care to 60,000 people a year regardless of their ability to pay. These people would not have access to a doctor without the facility. Comediennes Lily Tomlin and Wendy Liebman also performed at the event. Actor Beau Bridges was master of ceremonies.
