ABC, Warner Strike Deal

Four ABC series will stream on the network’s website and then be available in re-runs through Warner Bros., following an agreement between the television divisions of the two companies. The deal involves new episodes of “Big Shots,” “Men in Trees,” “Notes from the Underbelly” and “Pushing Daisies.” The deal was brokered by Jana Winograde, executive vice president of business affairs with ABC Entertainment, and Craig Hunegs, executive vice president of business management with the Warner Bros. Television Group. ABC has the rights to distribute the four shows at the ABC.com website for up to four weeks after their broadcast premiere. Warner Bros. received rights to make the shows available in re-runs via streaming video, digital downloads and DVD box sets. The innovative agreement allows both ABC and Warner Bros. increased flexibility to run their businesses while giving ongoing on-demand access to the series, said Warner Bros. Television Group President Bruce Rosenblum.
