L.A. Times Going Mobile with Auto, Real Estate Ads

The Los Angeles Times will offer detailed listings of auto and real estate ads to mobile devices through Woodland Hills-based mobile marketing firm Gumiyo. The new service lets car shoppers and home buyers access listings, photos and videos using text messages and turns traditional classified advertising into an interactive media. This new method combines an interactive experience with local, time-sensitive ads, said Ken Nail, director of automotive advertising for the Los Angeles Times. “Put simply, readers can get the best of both the print and interactive worlds and we see this as a great way of extending our advertisers’ reach to consumers on the go,” Nail said.
