LAWA plans to launch viable-flight study

PALMDALE – The latest episode in the cyclical story of passenger air service from L.A./Palmdale Regional Airport came to a close in 2008, as United Airlines became the most recent airline to cancel service. Lured by $2 million in subsidies and more in marketing support, the airline began offering flights between Palmdale and San Francisco International Airport in June 2007, the latest in a long line of attempts to establish the Palmdale airport as a viable option for Antelope Valley travelers.
