Palmdale Receives $9.9 Million Housing Grant

The City of Palmdale received a grant for $9.9 million from the California Department of Housing and Community Developmen for the first phase of affordable housing of the planned Transit Village project. The project will provide workforce and affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income households in Palmdale via a 121-unit townhouse project and 156 rentable apartments. “Palmdale was recognized as being the highest scoring applicant and for having the first project of its kind in the Southern California region,” Palmdale’s Neighborhood Preservation Specialist Mike Miller stated about winning the grant. The funding the grant will provide is earmarked for infrastructure, utilities, parking and land acquisition.
