MRV Communications Inc. lowered its third quarter revenue guidance due to soft European sales and delays in shipments from a China manufacturing facility. The Chatsworth-based provider of fiber optic components expects third quarter revenues in the range of $127 million to $129 million. The previous guidance had revenues in the range of $139 million to $144 million. The drop in revenue was attributed to delays in shipments due to a longer-than-expected transition to a new facility in Chengdu, China; currency exchange rate fluctuations during the quarter and softer sales in Europe during the summer months. These factors were partially offset by strong sales in the company’s network equipment business.
