Simulations Plus Receives $525,000 Grant

Lancaster-based Simulations Plus, Inc. received a $525,000 federal grant to develop software for the pharmaceutical industry. The Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant came from the National Cancer Institute, an agency of the National Institutes of Health. The grant will be disbursed over the course of two years and be used to enrich the predictive capabilities of software used by pharmaceutical scientists to estimate absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity properties of pharmaceutical compounds and to build advanced mathematical models. The objective of the government’s SBIR program is to stimulate technological innovations in the private sector and strengthen the role of small business in meeting federal research and development needs.
