Deadline for SAG Contract Ballots

Balloting ended June 9 by members of the Screen Actors Guild to vote on approval of a new contract with the major Hollywood studios. Guild membership was voting on a two-year agreement providing a 3.5 percent annual increase, including a 3 percent wage increase and a 0.5 percent pension and health contribution increase upon ratification, plus a 3.5 percent wage increase in the second year of the contract, according to the Daily News. The actors have been without a contract for more than a year as talks between the Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke down into a stalemate. Tabulating of the ballots will begin immediately after the deadline of 5 p.m., the Daily News reported.
