The Ventura Superior Court is seeking applicants in good standing with the State Bar Association to serve as commissioners for the court. Commissioners sit, at the pleasure of the court, in Simi Valley, Oxnard or Ventura. Commissioners will serve as magistrates hearing matters as diverse as family law, juvenile delinquency and dependency, child support, probate, guardianship and conservatorship, domestic violence, civil harassment, traffic, criminal, small claims, civil law and motion, unlawful detainer and other matters, and perform evening court sessions as assigned. Applicants must be admitted to practice as members of the State Bar of California for at least 10 years, the court said.
