ACTON – Conservation agencies will take control of more than 180 acres of land in Soledad Canyon and other areas around Acton and in northern Santa Clarita with the help of a county grant. Los Angeles County will provide a grant of just more than $1 million to help the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority purchase the land, all of which has fallen into tax default.
