City of San Fernando Big Winner in ADDY Awards

The City of San Fernando came away with the overall Best of Show at the Advertising Professionals of North Los Angeles awards presentation. The three-judge panel chose San Fernando for its overall body of work submitted in the Public Service and Elements of Advertising categories. The city also won individual awards for material on its new trolley system, the 2008 Mayor’s State of the City presentation, invitations for the San Fernando Regional Pool grand opening, the city services guide, AM 1690 San Fernando radio, and the new city logotype. It was a great honor to have the city recognized by the private sector and a compliment to the work of assistant Brian Haworth and the creative team that was put together, said City Administrator Jose Pulido. “It is important for other cities to know that even with a limited budget you can put out pieces that inform the public and are well received,” Pulido said. The AdPros of North Los Angeles received 89 entries from 25 companies or government agencies in its annual awards show. All entries winning Best of Show in their category go on to judging in the regional competition for California and Las Vegas. When looking at the entries judge Diana Crews said she took into consideration the appropriateness of how the material connected to the client and the service or product they offered. “The best ones understand the client and how best to present that client,” Crews said.
