National Technical Builds Safety Lab in Texas

Engineering and test services firm National Technical Systems Inc. is building a new safety lab to meet international standards for clients exporting goods abroad. The Calabasas-based company expects to open the lab in Plano, Texas by mid-July. The 95,000-square -foot lab and support space is a way for National Technical to continue to upgrade and evolve its facilities, President and Chief Executive William McGinnis said in a statement. The lab includes vibration testing at extreme temperatures and salt water immersion testing up to 150 feet deep. “We have made it our goal to be a comprehensive provider of international product testing and will support our customers in their export efforts,” McGinnis said in a statement. Shares of National Technical closed down 6 cents or a fraction of a percent at $13.80 on the Nasdaq.
