Cherokee Names New CFO

Apparel brand licensing company Cherokee Inc. of Van Nuys has named Jason Boling its new chief financial officer. The appointment comes after Mark DiSiena, who served in the position for two years, resigned effective Feb. 25 to pursue other opportunities. Boling joins Cherokee after leaving DTS Inc. of Calabasas, which produces high-definition audio equipment. He was vice president of finance and accounting at DTS since 2006. “Jason brings exceptional experience to the company, and has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, budgeting, Sarbanes-Oxley, investor relations and tax planning,” said Chief Executive Henry Stupp in a statement. Boling was elected to the board of directors as the new chief financial officer effective on or about March 25. Shares were up 43 cents, or 3 percent, to $14.40 in midday trading on the Nasdaq.
