Audio software developer DTS Inc. fell short of analyst forecasts for revenue and earnings per share in the fourth quarter. The Calabasas company reported net income of $302,000 (2 cents a share) for the quarter ending Dec. 31 compared with $7.1 million (42 cents) in the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose by less than 1percent to $29.8 million. Analyst forecasts put earnings at 15 cents a share and revenue at $31.2 million, according to Thomson Financial Network. Contributing to the fourth quarter results were acquisition and integration-related costs and stock-based compensation expenses. In July, DTS acquired SRS Labs, an audio processing and enhancement technologies company in Santa Ana in a deal valued at $148 million. For the full fiscal year, DTS reported a net loss of $15.5 million (89 cents a share) compared with net income of $18.3 million ($1.04) in the prior fiscal year. Revenue rose 4 percent to $101 million. Shares closed at $20.54, down 9 cents or less than 1 percent on the Nasdaq.
