KB Home has acquired land in Valencia from Newhall Land Co. for a new community, the company announced. The Los Angeles homebuilder will construct homes on 54 finished lots in the master-planned River Village development. The community, Charleston at River Village, will feature homes with upscale two-story floor plans that will range in size from 3,413 to 4,511 square feet. “Recent activity in the market and our sell-out success at other communities in the area have proven there is a great demand for new homes here,” said Tom DiPrima, KB Home’s executive vice president for Southern California in a statement. The homes will include more build-to-suit options than other developments by the builder, including first-floor junior suites, walk-in dual closets and sun rooms, according to DiPrima. Units will be offered at prices ranging from $624,000 to $639,000. The community is scheduled to open in the spring. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. River Village is one of the several master-planned communities in Valencia, and will comprise 432 single-family homes and 657 condos on 700 acres when completed.
