Nomadix Settles Patent Suit Against AT&T

Agoura Hills tech company Nomadix Inc. has settled a patent infringement lawsuit brought against affiliates of telecommunications giant AT&T in 2009. Nomadix, which makes technology that regulates Internet access in public places or facilitates Wi-Fi service in large areas, did not disclose terms of the settlement, but said the deal includes AT&T licensing the company’s patents. The suit involved Austin, Texas Wi-Fi company Wayport Inc., which was acquired by AT&T in 2008; and Montreal data management and Internet firms Superclick Inc. and Superclick Networks Inc., which are affiliated with AT&T. Nomadix settled a similar patent lawsuit against computer company Hewlett-Packard Co. in November. Nomadix is a subsidiary of DOCOMO interTouch Pte Ltd., a Singapore company that provides Internet and other services to the hospitality industry.
