Post-production company Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. is acquiring Mediapeers, a German cloud-software provider for the entertainment industry. The Berlin-based company will be folded into Deluxe Media, a Burbank business unit of Deluxe that provides services that allow digital files to be downloaded, stored and retrieved. Mediapeers offers broadcasters, independent producers and studios a platform for distributing digital content. And it allows for viewing and licensing content by broadcasters, and operators of mobile TV, video-on-demand and web TV stations. Deluxe will integrate Mediapeers products within its proprietary DL3 system that manages post-production services including closed captions, subtitles, foreign audio tracks, and content delivery. “For some time, Mediapeers has been a recognized segment leader and we are excited to integrate it into Deluxe’s array of media services,” said Rob Seidel, executive vice president and general manager of Deluxe Media, in a prepared statement. Terms of the deal, announced Thursday, were not disclosed. Deluxe Entertainment Services Group is a subsidiary of privately held MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc., in New York.
