Capstone Secures Orders for 20 Turbines

Capstone Turbine Corp. has sold 20 micoturbines to a German customer, the company announced Tuesday. The Chatsworth alternative energy equipment company said the orders were secured by its German distributor, E-Quad Power Systems GmbH for customers seeking both heat and electrical power. One large turbine will be installed at a large industrial laundry facility for steam production. Another 19 smaller microturbines will be installed at various manufacturing and oil and gas production sites throughout Germany. The smaller turbines qualify for special clean energy incentives from the German government the company said. “E-Quad has identified the growth patterns in Germany and capitalized on the rising adoption rate of combined heat and power systems in key sectors,” Jim Crouse, executive vice president at Capstone said in a statement. “Germany is a highly technical market and customers appreciate the advanced technology Capstone provides.” Shares closed up 3 cents or nearly 16 percent to 25 cents on the Nasdaq.
