Koppel IP Names New Partner

Westlake Village intellectual property law firm Koppel IP has named Corey Donaldson as its newest partner. Donaldson joined the boutique firm in 2012 and practices in the areas of patent prosecution, litigation as well as trademark law. He has experience dealing with these issues in China, where counterfeiting runs rampant. Prior to joining Koppel IP, Donaldson worked for the UCLA Office of Intellectual Property. He also received his law degree from the Westwood-based university with a concentration in entertainment and media law. In addition, he will be graduating with his master’s degree in electronic materials engineering from UCLA this month. “We are pleased to add Corey to our leadership team,” Partner Jaye Heybl said in a statement. “He has an exceptional background in engineering and intellectual property law, and on top of that, is the lead for the firm on various enforcement matters in Asia.” Koppel IP was established in 1986 and has practice areas in patent and trademark prosecution matters, including IP litigation, licensing, trade secret protection and copyright procurement.
