Film payroll and accounting services provider Cast & Crew has named John Berkley as its new president. In this newly created position, Berkley will be responsible for the Burbank company’s growth and the evolution of its product portfolio that includes marketing, program management, corporate development and the Final Draft software brand. He will report to Chief Executive Eric Belcher. Berkley is an operating executive with Silver Lake, the lead investor in Cast & Crew, and has been at Cast & Crew for nearly a year coordinating the company’s go-to-market strategies for its digital products. Prior to Silver Lake, Berkley handled the product, technology, and operations functions at Mercury Payment Systems, a merchant services provider acquired in 2014 by Vantiv Inc., in Cincinnati. Cast & Crew’s market position and strategic focus present an amazing opportunity and he was excited to be joining the company, Berkley said. “We have gone through significant strategic, operational and business-scope changes over the past few years – all of which have set the stage for the company we are becoming,” Berkley added in a prepared statement.
