Simi Valley Call Center to Hang It Up

More than 120 workers will be laid off from the iQor Holdings US call center in Simi Valley, according to the company. IQor, based in St. Petersburg, Fla., is closing the center at 2290 Agate Court because of a change in strategy for one of its clients, according to Robert Burke, a company spokesman. The contact center handles inbound and outbound customer support calls for many different types of programs. The 129 employees will be let go effective June 1. “All employees who have been impacted by this request have been given the opportunity apply for other open roles within the company or relocated to another iQor-operated facility,” Burke wrote in an email to the Business Journal. IQor is an aftermarket product and customer support provider for the media, consumer electronics, retail, financial services and healthcare industries, among others.
