Colliers Brokerage Team Moves to NAI Capital

A top team of Colliers International brokers has joined NAI Capital. Gian Starita, Ken Ward and Lucy Hartford have moved into NAI Capital’s fold from Colliers International, where they specialized in capital markets and tenant representation in the San Fernando Valley, according to an NAI announcement Tuesday. “They have built an outstanding reputation among clients and peers as expert, creative tenant rep brokers. We are excited to have them join our family,” Chris Jackson, executive managing director of NAI Capital’s San Fernando Valley office, said in a statement. Team leader Starita joins NAI Capital as executive vice president and a member of the firm’s Investment Services Group. The Boston-bred broker has built his professional reputation on developing strategies based upon a strong financial background and understanding the goals of a deal’s stakeholders. With an extensive background in sales and construction, Ward, who specializes in the sale and leasing of industrial properties in the North Los Angeles region, joins NAI as vice president. In his warehouse dealings, he has forged relationships with a diverse client base, from Fortune 500 companies to local businesses. Hartford joins NAI Capital as a senior associate with experience representing tenants and landlords. “Our motivation for moving the team was strategic,” Starita said of the team’s jump. “I have been working for the past year in an exciting niche of the 1031 exchange market known as the cash-out exchange. The move to NAI Capital is instrumental to our team due to the large volume of sales transactions NAI Capital completes.” NAI’s Encino office is currently on track to complete between 110 to 120 sales this year, continued Starita, who appreciates his new firm’s combination of brokerage, research, marketing and property management resources. “In my first week, communication between the 230-plus brokers here has been extraordinary,” Starita said. “NAI Capital is an excellent home for us.”
