Woodland Hills CPA Firm Promotes Partners

Woodland Hills accounting and compliance advisory firm CNM LLP has promoted three employees as new partners. Adam Mallord joined CNM in 2011 and is now partner in the firm’s compliance and risk advisory services division. He has 15 years’ experience in in audit, security, internal control compliance and internal audits. Previously, he worked as a manager at Netherlands-based international auditor KPMG. Razmig Bolkorjian joined CNM in 2015 and is now a partner in the firm’s accounting and transaction services division. He has spearheaded the firm’s technical accounting projects, including analysis and the phasing in of current and new accounting standards. Previously, he worked at KPMG as a senior manager for the firm’s audit practice group. Xavier Gomez joined CNM in 2007 and is now a partner in the firm’s accounting and transaction services division. He has taken the lead on many of the firm’s IPO readiness projects. Previously, he worked in the audit assurance division at London-based international accounting firm Ernst & Young. “We are delighted to announce the promotions of Adam, Razmig and Xavier,” said CNM Managing Partner Nathan Matthews in a statement. “At CNM, the foundations of servant leadership are the hallmarks of our leadership philosophy, and Adam, Razmig and Xavier demonstrate these qualities in abundance. They all bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their new appointments and will help CNM continue to maintain the high level of professional excellence for which we are well known.” Paycheck Interruption Relief Glendale-based California Credit Union is offering financial relief programs to members whose paychecks have been interrupted by the partial government shutdown or the Los Angeles Unified School District teacher strike. Members may skip a loan payment on most lines of credit, request early withdraw from deposit accounts and apply for reduced-rate personal loans up to $3,000. “California Credit Union members can rest assured we will provide them with a variety of special assistance programs to help alleviate some of the financial stress this situation may cause them,” said Chief Executive Steve O’Connell in a statement referring to the shutdown. O’Connell also noted that the credit union was “founded by educators, for educators. … We encourage members who may be affected to reach out to us so we can develop a personalized plan to meet their financial needs during this time.” BlackLine’s Japanese Operation BlackLine Inc. has hired technology executive Yoshiko Furuhama as country manager for BlackLine K.K., the company’s recently established subsidiary in Japan. Furuhama previously worked at Philips Japan. Before that, she worked more than 20 years in various executive positions at SAP in both Japan and Germany. BlackLine, based in Woodland Hills, makes software that streamlines financial close operations. “We see significant opportunity to help companies based in Japan with their finance transformation journeys,” BlackLine Chief Executive Therese Tucker said in a statement. “We believe Yoshiko’s extensive experience fostering digital transformation and advancing cloud technology at multiple Japanese companies will be a tremendous asset in helping BlackLine establish a strong market presence.” Florida Consulting Firm Conejo Valley entrepreneur Arleen Scavone has joined the management team of Florida professional consulting firm Newbold Advisors LLC. Scavone founded mortgage consultancy OpExNow, which she led for almost a decade. In addition, she has 30 years of experience in various operations, sales and service roles. “Arleen has a long track record of executing transformational programs in our industry,” said Newbold Founding Partner Terry Couto in a statement. “As our clients look to re-platform and attract millennial customers in originations and drive down costs in servicing through transformational programs, adding Arleen’s expertise in these areas creates an even more compelling offering for our clients.” An accomplished baker, Scavone opened Sweet Arlene’s cupcake store in Westlake Village, where she remains a consultant.
