Firm Stays Put Post-Acquisition

Platinum Tools Inc., a manufacturer of datacom products, has been sold to NSI Industries of Huntersville, N.C. The Newbury Park company makes and distributes structured wiring products, tester kits, cutters, crimpers and other products for electrical, industrial, security, datacom and telecom applications. Platinum Tools was founded in 1997, employs approximately 40 people and will continue to operate out of Newbury Park. Last summer, it was named as the top leader in the Tools & Testers category by CE Pro magazine and was recognized by Cabling Installation & Maintenance magazine with two Cabling Innovators Awards. The acquisition allows NSI, a provider of electrical products, to expand its market reach. Platinum President Lee Sachs said the combined companies strengthen their commitments to deliver attention and service to the customers. “We are excited about this partnership with NSI Industries and the value it will bring to our respective customers,” Sachs said in a statement. NSI Chief Executive G. R. Schrotenboer said the Platinum Tools product portfolio complements well what NSI offers. “Platinum Tools shares our dedication to offer the best quality products designed for efficient and easy installation, while bringing economic value to contractors, electricians and installers,” Schrotenboer said in a statement.
