Autism Care Center Opens

Autism evaluation and therapy provider Cortica celebrated the opening of its Westlake Village location on Feb. 18. Officials and representatives from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new location at 2625 Townsgate Road. The 12,000-square-foot center, which provides neurological therapies for children with autism, speech and language delays as well as sensory processing disorders, first opened its doors in November. It represents the San Diego company’s sixth location in the state. In addition to custom-built medical evaluation rooms, and areas for individual and family counseling, the center also features an indoor gym complete with rock-climbing wall. “Our sixth center expands our services to the Conejo Valley, where we are able to provide the highest quality of care to children with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families,” Dr. Walt Cooper, president of Cortica, said in a statement. “We have a world-class clinical team in Westlake Village who work together under one roof to identify the underlying causes of developmental differences and create a customized treatment program for each of the children who walk through our doors.”
