Avantus Buys Another Fastener Company

Avantus Aerospace has acquired California Screw Products, a Paramount high-strength fasteners manufacturer for commercial and military aerospace applications.Terms of the deal between Avantus, in Santa Clarita and California Screw Products, or CalScrew, were not disclosed.In a release, Avantus said the transaction for CalScrew makes it a natural fit with other companies within in the Avantus group, including Fastener Technology Corp, acquired in December, and Fastener Innovation Technology, acquired last month.Chief Executive Brian Williams said the CalScrew team is known for taking care of its customers and that Avantus was looking forward to integrating its fasteners into the company’s expanding product line.“Our combined strength allows Avantus to continue offering a diverse range of high-quality products with exceptional customer service,” Williams said in a statement.CalScrew was founded in 1984 and developed a reputation as reliable supplier of difficult-to-make fasteners used on more than 45 aircraft. The existing management team will continue to operate the business under the guidance of fastener division President Dennis Suedkamp, and Director of Business Development Larry Valeriano, formerly the president of CalScrew.Avantus is owned by Inflexion, a London-based mid-market private equity firm, and Auctus Industries, an investor in aerospace businesses also headquartered in London.
