Chick-Fil-A Opens In Glendale

A new Chick-fil-A franchise has opened in the Americana at Brand shopping center in Glendale. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to open a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Glendale,” Robert Peterson, operator of Chick-fil-A Americana at Brand, said in a press release. “This community means so much to our family, and I cannot wait to provide great food and premium hospitality to everyone that enters our doors.” This is Peterson’s second time operating a Chick-fil-A franchise. The Pasadena native previously owned the location at the Westfield Century City Mall in West Los Angeles. This location is the first Chick-fil-A in Glendale.Chick-fil-A Americana at Brand is located at 807 Americana Way, within the Caruso-owned shopping center, and is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Peterson is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 80 full- and part-time employees, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses and serving guests. The grand opening commenced March 26 at 8 a.m., with COVID-19 precautions in place and adherence to local capacity restrictions. Current Los Angeles County guidelines dictate indoor dining operations can open at no more than 25 percent capacity and must maintain social distancing practices. “You know, there have been challenges, but nothing that we can’t overcome,” Peterson said of opening while coronavirus restrictions remain in place. “We’ll have some special procedures in place, obviously following local, city, state and federal guidelines for health mandates, but we’re also doing a lot to keep our guests and staff safe, including health screenings, social distancing and limited capacity indoor dining. We have plexiglas barriers, face shields, masks, additional cleaning, etc.” In lieu of the traditional “First 100 Campout,” where customers wait in line for a chance to win vouchers for free Chick-fil-A food for a year, the coupons were donated to doctors and nurses at Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital. The vouchers entitle each holder to one free Chick-fil-A meal each week for a calendar year.
