PALMDALE – A fire erupted Wednesday on the roof of Palmdale’s new hospital, but caused no injuries and did not burn its way into the hospital structure, authorities said. It was a close call for a facility that is expected to transform availability of health care services, particularly in the south Antelope Valley, where Palmdale has been without its own hospital for more than a decade.
