Agency slows down ‘buy local’ campaign

CITY HALL , The Redevelopment Agency, concerned over a potential lack of marketing research, applied the brakes Tuesday to a $150,000 “Buy Glendale” promotion aimed at supporting local businesses. Just two weeks after the agency asked for a promotional campaign to get residents to patronize local businesses, development officials obliged Tuesday with a mass-media marketing plan that included outreach through direct mailers, local access cable commercials, light pole signs and a website.
